SMA Sunny Backup Inverters

What happens if your PV-installation disconnects from the grid in the event of a blackout?  Should this ever happen your installation will not produce any more electricity for grid feeding or to your supply for your consumers in their properties.

SMA have a solution with the Sunny Backup-System: As an add-on for the PV-system it automatically switches the system to island power supply in the case of a grid failure.

You can equip every SMA inverter-operated system as well as new systems with a Sunny Backup-System. A Further advantage: Due to the integration of the PV system, a small and therefore low-cost battery can be fitted, as it is usually only needed to bridge the night hours.

The Sunny Backup-System is designed as pre-configured sets for all power ranges from 1 up to 100 kW. Easy to install and easy to upgrade when required.

 SUNNY BACKUP Set M/L/XL

Best performance, greatest user benefits and lowest investment and operating costs: in comparison with conventional emergency power systems, the Sunny Backup System scores well. As an add-on to the PV system, the Sunny Backup automatically switches to off-grid supply within approx. 20 milliseconds in the event of a grid failure. New and existing PV-plants can be equipped with the Sunny Backup – without affecting system efficiency. And the best part: due to the integration of the PV system, a small and therefore low-cost battery can be implemented as it is usually only needed to bridge the night hours.

Island electricity for commercial PV systems up to around 100 kW. For a safe supply to important consumers.

 Sunny Backup Set S

Innovative electricity supply for home owners: as on add-on to the PV system, the Sunny Backup Set Small switches to off-grid mode within 50 milliseconds. For winter or summer: owners of small or medium-sized PV systems with inverters from SMA can supply the important loads self-sufficiently in the event of a power failure. The affordable complete solution is not only suitable for new solar power systems; existing PV systems can also be retrofitted with the certified Sunny Backup System without difficulty.

Island electricity for single family homes. Easy, cost effective integration into new and existing systems up to around 4.6 kW.
