Energy Storage Systems - ESS

Energy Storage Systems supplied and installed by Solenttech use modular lithium-ion energy storage technology, solar power or wind generated, stored in battery modules for immediate use or for future energy consumption requirements.

Energy can either be fed into the grid by an inverter ( Nedap, SMA or Victron *) when suitable or can be accumulated in the energy storage system for future or on demand use by the consumer. The energy is available when required, in the evening, at night and on days with less sunshine or wind.

As a producer of solar energy using an Energy Storage System (ESS) the user is more independent and not reliant upon the grid and therefore use energy when they need it.

* The systems we supply are subject to ESS compatibility and approval by the relevant grid inverter / off-grid inverter manufacturer such as Nedap, SMA , Victron or the relevant OEM.

Aquion Energy Storage Systems

Aquion battery storage systems are a high performance, safe, sustainable and cost-effective energy storage. They are optimized for stationary, long duration daily cycling applications. This includes off-grid and micro grids, energy management, and grid-scale energy storage applications.

Aquion’s battery systems provide both flexible and scalable modular energy storage that optimizes existing generation assets and enables broad adoption of renewable energy technologies such as wind and solar. Aquion battery systems let you store excess energy generated by wind and solar so you can use it when the sun is not shining or the wind is not blowing. Storing energy enables you to consume all the energy you produce and control your energy costs. Batteries also provide resiliency during storms to ensure you have critical power when the grid is down.

To overcome the fundamental flaws of lead-acid, gel and AGM batteries, such as plate sulfation, active material loss, high water loss rate, serious acid pollution, poor low temperature performance, short life cycle, poor transport safety, Betta Batteries successfully developed Lead Crystal® batteries. Lead Crystal Batteries have an unique proprietary technology; five exclusive patented technological innovations.

Betta Batteries commercialises Lead Crystal® batteries, the better alternative to lead acid, lead gel and AGM batteries. Betta Batteries is the only manufacturer of Lead Crystal® batteries worldwide. Robust, resilient, high performing. Lead Crystal® batteries can be discharged deeper, cycled more often (even in extreme temperatures) and have a longer service life. They recover to full rated capacity over and over again.

A unique micro-porous high absorbent mat (AGM), pure lead plates, safe SiO2 electrolyte solution that solidifies into
a white crystalline powder when charged/discharged. Less acid, no cadmium, no antimony. Lead Crystal® batteries are up to 99% recyclable and are classified as non-hazardous goods for transport.

Lead Crystal® batteries are being used in telecoms, UPS, petrochemi/marine, defence, renewable energy. health care, manufacturing, transportation and electric motion(wheelchairs, golf carts and trolleys).

BMZ ESS - Energy Storage Systems

BMZ ESS use a new generation of robust and long-life lithium batteries. An integrated BMS supervises all relevant parameters and communicates data and alarms. In case of malfunction, it can enforce a system shutdown. Integrated fuses and safety vents guarantees a secure operation and are scalable up to 12 units.

The decisive advantages compared with conventional batteries:

  • 3 to 5 times longer service life, high cycle durability

  • 97 % efficiency and an extremely compact design

  • The systems are approved and compatible for use with the Nedap PowerRouter, SMA Sunny Island 6.0H, 8.0H and SMA Sunny Boy.

LG Chem RESU 6.4 EX

The LG Chem RESU 6.4 EX is a 48V 6.4 kWh lithium-ion battery with a peak power of 5kW and is compatible with the SMA Sunny Island 3.0, Sunny Island 4.4 and the SMA Flexible Storage System. The RESU 6.4 EX with 144Wh brings storage solutions at an affordable price and a top class quality.

The increase in power density, from 36Wh to 144Wh, enabled an ultra-compact, ultra-lightweight battery to be designed. The RESU 6.4.EX allows for expansion with two 3.2Wh modules so you can have a 6.4Wh, 9.6Wh or 12.8Wh system. With such flexibility it is a great solution for households of many sizes. The RESU 6.4 EX can be installed indoors and the unit can be mounted easily on sturdy walls.

SMA Sunny Boy Smart Energy

SMA Sunny Boy Smart Energy inverters are the perfect combination of PV inverter and battery. The inverter comes with everything. The new Sunny Boy Smart Energy is currently the easiest solution for common household PV applications. This combination of a modern PV inverter and a battery with an effective capacity of 2 kWh not only offsets more energy consumption but also makes it possible to use home-generated solar energy around the clock.

The Sunny Boy Smart Energy is the first wall-mountable, series-produced PV inverter to feature an integrated lithium-ion battery, making it perfect for use in the SMA Smart Home and tailored for the shift to renewable power. Moreover, the integrated Web connect function provides worldwide access to consumption and yield data via Sunny Portal.

SMA Sunny Island Off Grid Inverters

The SI SI3.0M-11 or SI4.4M-11 is designed for rough ambient conditions for stand alone or grid back up operation. Rated to give a power output of 3.0kW or 4.4kW for 30 min.

In single-phase systems only one SI3.0M-11 or SI4.4M-11 can be used. Three-phase systems can be achieved using a cluster of three SI3.0M-11 or SI4.4M-11 inverters, multi-cluster systems are not possible with these inverters.

The Sunny Island 6.0H/8.0H are powerful inverters with rated power outputs of 6kW or 8kW for 30 min. which can be stacked in clusters for higher power levels in both single phase and three phase networks. Systems up to 300kW are possible. These inverters are for larger single-phase or multi-cluster 3-phase systems.

Sony Fortelion Energy Storage Systems

Sony Fortelion Energy Storage Systems are highly scalable due to their modular design. The decisive advantages compared with conventional batteries is 3 to 5 times longer service life, high cycle durability, 95% efficiency and an extremely compact design.

Compatible with the SMA Sunny Island 6.0H, 8.0H and SMA Sunny Boy and Nedap Power Router. The microprocessor supervises all relevant parameters and communicates alarms to the controller. In case of malfunction, it can enforce a system shutdown. This Lithium-Iron-Phosphate Energy Storage System is designed for long cycle life and lifetime.

Powered by Sony’s iron phosphate cells, “Fortelion”, a built-in self-monitoring function detects any abnormality within the module itself and multiple modules can easily be connected either in series or in parallel.
